Common Palate Symptoms
- Pain and Sores: Often caused by burns from hot food ('pizza palate'), canker sores, or irritation from a denture.
- Bony Growth (Torus Palatinus): A common, harmless bony lump in the midline of the hard palate.
- Color Changes: Smokers may develop 'nicotine stomatitis,' which appears as white, thickened tissue with small red dots. Red spots can also be caused by trauma.
- Vibrating Soft Palate: A primary cause of snoring.
