1. Initial Consultation & Assessment
Your journey begins with a thorough evaluation by an orthodontist. This includes a clinical exam, X-rays, and photos to diagnose any alignment or bite issues.
2. Treatment Planning
Based on the assessment, a customized treatment plan is created. This will outline the type of braces or aligners recommended, the estimated duration, and the specific goals of the treatment.
3. Appliance Placement (Getting Braces On)
Your braces are carefully bonded to your teeth, or you receive your first set of clear aligners with instructions on how to wear them.
4. Regular Adjustments
You will visit your orthodontist every 4-8 weeks. During these appointments, your braces are adjusted to continue guiding your teeth into the correct position, or you'll receive your next sets of aligners.
5. Debonding (Getting Braces Off)
Once your teeth have reached their ideal alignment, the braces are removed. Your teeth are then polished to remove any remaining bonding material.
6. Retention Phase
This is the final and most crucial phase. You will receive a custom-made retainer to hold your teeth in their new positions and prevent them from shifting back.
